Greek Yogurt with Alapaha Honey and Toasted Nuts
By The Farm
Known in Greece as yiaourti me meli, yogurt with honey is a simple combination of thick Greek yogurt, golden honey, and crunchy nuts. This version uses light, floral Alapaha Honey with pecans or walnuts for an easy breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Makes: 2 servings
Prep time: About 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain strained Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, toasted if desired
- 1/4 cup Weeks Honey Farm Alapaha Honey
- Ground cinnamon, to taste
- Ground turmeric, optional, to taste
How to Make Greek Yogurt with Honey
- Divide the yogurt. Spoon the Greek yogurt evenly into two bowls.
- Add the honey. Drizzle the Alapaha Honey over the yogurt. Leave it layered for presentation or swirl it gently into the yogurt.
- Season. Add cinnamon to taste and a small pinch of turmeric if desired.
- Top with nuts. Divide the pecans or walnuts between the bowls.
- Serve. Enjoy immediately while the nuts are crisp.
How to Toast the Nuts
Spread the pecans or walnuts on a dry sheet pan and bake at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring once, until fragrant. Watch closely near the end, then cool before adding them to the yogurt.
Easy Serving Ideas
- Add berries, sliced pears, peaches, or bananas.
- Sprinkle with granola for extra crunch.
- Use half pecans and half walnuts for a mixed topping.
- Set out yogurt, honey, fruit, and nuts as a build-your-own breakfast bar.
Why Alapaha Honey Works
Alapaha Honey has a light floral profile that complements tangy yogurt, toasted nuts, fruit, and cinnamon without overpowering the bowl.
