Whipped Honey Butter with Sea Salt
By The Farm
This three-ingredient whipped honey butter is light, creamy, and balanced with a pinch of flaky sea salt. Spread it over warm biscuits, cornbread, dinner rolls, pancakes, waffles, toast, or roasted sweet potatoes.
Makes: About 1 1/4 cups
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, fully softened
- 1/4 cup Weeks Honey Farm Georgia Wildflower Honey
- 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt
How to Make Whipped Honey Butter
- Whip the butter. Add the softened butter to a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat on high for about 2 minutes, until pale and fluffy. Stop and scrape the bowl as needed.
- Add the honey. With the mixer running on medium, slowly drizzle in the Wildflower Honey. Increase the speed and whip for 1 minute more, until fully combined and airy.
- Add the salt. Fold in the flaky sea salt or mix briefly on low.
- Serve. Spoon into a small serving bowl. Add a light drizzle of honey and a few flakes of salt on top if desired.
Tips for a Light, Fluffy Texture
- Let the butter soften completely at room temperature; cold butter will not whip smoothly.
- Scrape the bowl before and after adding the honey so no dense butter remains at the bottom.
- If the mixture looks separated, continue whipping until smooth.
- For easy spreading, let refrigerated honey butter soften briefly before serving.
Storage
Keep covered in the refrigerator. Bring only the amount you plan to serve to room temperature, then return the rest to the refrigerator promptly.
Why Wildflower Honey Works
Georgia Wildflower Honey has a balanced floral flavor that stands out in a simple butter while pairing easily with both sweet and savory breads.
Raw honey should not be given to infants under one year of age.
